Interventional radiology

Presentation

Interventional radiology is a medical procedure performed by a radiologist.

At the Centre Henri Bequerel, this most often involves the removal of a deep organ (or biopsy), guided by a medical imaging device.

These examinations can be performed under ultrasound guidance, mammography, CT scan, etc.

The samples taken will be analyzed by an anatomopathologist.

These examinations can be used to refine a diagnosis, or to determine whether a suspicious lesion or collection is aggressive or not.

In most cases, these examinations are organized during a pre-biopsy consultation with the radiologist who will be performing the procedure, in order to explain how the procedure will be carried out and how it will be performed.
