The contrast medium used is a drug containing iodine. Allergic reactions such as urticaria are possible.
After the examination, you can go straight home. You will be advised to drink plenty of water to eliminate the contrast medium from your body.
If you are diabetic and taking Metformin, you will be asked to stop taking it for 48 hours after your examination.
The scan results will be sent to the prescribing physician within 24 hours of the examination. He or she will report back to you at your next appointment.
