Presentation

Mammography is an X-ray of the breasts using low-dose X-rays. It is performed using a device called a "mammograph".

Mammography is a radiological examination that involves taking two X-rays of each breast, one horizontal and one oblique (from the side), for a total of four images.
The examination is carried out by a radiology technician and lasts just a few seconds. To obtain a quality image and reduce the amount of radiation emitted, the breast must be compressed between two plates for 10 to 15 seconds, which may cause some discomfort.
